Mary gives the salesman from
the May B. Oil Co. all hers and Jack's life savings to buy stock
in the company. |
|
Everyone comforts Jack when
he has to quit work due to his health. He doesn't know Mary spent
all their life savings on oil stock and that Mabel has lost her
job, too. |
|
Freddie offers to marry Mabel
and help the family with their financial problems, but she declines. |
|
The editor tells Mabel she
must get an interview with the famous curio collector, Blake,
who hates reporters. |
|
Mabel poses as a bellboy
to get in to see Blake. |
|
Blake shows her the $50,000
bracelet he has brought back from his latest curio-hunting trip. |
|
An organ grinder's monkey
takes the necklace and goes out on the ledge high above the city
street. |
|
Mabel goes after the monkey,
but a playful pup slows down her efforts. |
|
After a series of hair-raising
activities on the side of the building, Mabel finally catches
the simian culprit. |
