In "The Beloved Rogue," John Barrymore's
next picture, we have the story of Francois Villon, that romantic
figure of old Paris . . . Villon was a little mad . . . so William
Cameron Menzies designed the scenes for this production as he
thinks it likely Villon himself saw them.
