BRAVEHEART
starring Rod La Roque and Lillian Rich
HARRISON'S REPORTS
January 16, 1926

A good drama, in which the hero is the son of an Indian chief, and the heroine a White girl. There is considerable human interest in many of the situations, and the attention is held pretty tight to the end. There are some thrills, too, these being caused by an exciting football game. The outdoor scenery is beautiful; it shoudl add to the pleasure of the lovers of nature. Mr. La Rocque makes an excellent Indian. Lillian Rich is very good as the heroine. Alan Hale's direction is faultless.

The plot has been founded on the play "Strongheart," by William De Mille. It unfolds in Oregon and deals with a love affair between an Indian and a White girl. It does not culmiate in a marriage between hero and heroine.

PHOTOPLAY
March 1926

Rod La Rocque's first starring vehicle -- and an ineresting one. Again Alan Hale has hit the mark with his excellent directorial abilities. This is a very romantic affair of an Indian who loves a white girl and shoulders a crime committed by her brother. He sacrifices her love because of racial difference. Lillian Rich makes a charming heroine and is ably assisted by Robert Edeson and Sally Rand.
